       One of the direction and one of the type constant can be combined with
       bitwise OR operator (|). The default value for the 
       <parameter>flags</parameter> parameter is 
       <constant>DBX_CMP_ASC</constant> | <constant>DBX_CMP_NATIVE</constant>.
