Peter Cowburn e98d856677 Update description to prefer environment variable (Patch by online editor user)
Dear online editor user,

I lost your name when making some small changes to your patch. I did copy your details from the patch into my clipboard, but overwrote it when, being too lazy to type a whole word, I copied some other text in the editor. Your name may be forgotten, but your contribution remains.

Thank you, online editor user!

PHP 5.3.0, 5.3.1 and 5.3.2 do not have SNMP support. SNMP support has been restored in PHP 5.3.3.

The Windows distribution of Net-SNMP contains support files for SNMP in the
<filename class="directory">mibs</filename> directory. This directory
should added to Windows' environment variables, as MIBDIRS, with the
value being the full path to the <filename class="directory">mibs</filename> directory:
e.g. <filename class="directory">c:\usr\mibs</filename>.

Important notes for PHP prior to 5.4.0: In order to use the UCD SNMP package, you need to define
<literal>NO_ZEROLENGTH_COMMUNITY</literal> to <literal>1</literal> before
compiling it. After configuring UCD SNMP, edit <filename>config.h</filename>
or <filename>acconfig.h</filename> and search for
<literal>NO_ZEROLENGTH_COMMUNITY</literal>. Uncomment the <literal>#define</literal> line. It
should look like this afterwards:
<programlisting role="c">

#define NO_ZEROLENGTH_COMMUNITY 1

</programlisting>
Now compile PHP --with-snmp[=DIR].
</para>
<para>
If you see strange segmentation faults in combination with SNMP commands,
you did not follow the above instructions. If you do not want to recompile
UCD SNMP, you can compile PHP with the
--enable-ucd-snmp-hack switch which
will work around the misfeature.
