4a812d8f98 Mentioned this is for PHP 3 and refer to appropriate PHP 4 sources. This also 
adds a link to the Zend API docs.
# If your phpdoc build fails to find the zend link id, you have two options:
# a) Checkout the ZendAPI cvs module (it's separate from phpdoc) and run ./configure again
# b) Or run ./configure as to insert the missing link id into entities/missing-ids.xml
# Either way the official build will find it.

d1e0b70017 Revert addition of install.configure.with-mysql, this now lives in ref.mysql 
as mysql.configure.  Thanks to Goba for noticing this.

85f541b276 Rewrote the introduction. Made it clear this is not a complete list of 
configure options.  Also, links to gnu configure docs and implemented user
note about --prefix.

11697d75f4 Mention ip2long returns -1 on failure. Also expand the second example 
to demonstrate what all this stuff looks like, mention that 255.255.255.255
also returns -1, and see also sprintf().
