2a314ad163 Removed references to pecl4win as it died. And updated information with 
the current status, which is: We do not offer Windows binaries for PECL
extensions. In the future pecl.php.net will offer such downloads.

7126fee019 - Moved PHP_INI_* definition from appendices/ini.xml to its own sect1 in install/ini.xml 
- Updated the table (and its description) with new content and formatting
- Changed description from "constants" to "modes" as they are not PHP constants
- Removed "value" column from table
- Named it configuration.changes.modes
- This also deals with bug #46540

2897133cc6 Added information on setting up MSVC 2005 Express environment on Windows, based off of Elizabeth Marie Smith's excellent instructions. These changes are part of a larger project that will entail a rewrite of this entire section of the manual.

2d80dab5c4 Use the pecl command instead of the pear command. 
Feel free to research the history. It appears 1.4.0 introduced pecl, and
made pear not install PECL extensions. They both use pearcmd.php currently.

The pear command gives a warning for PECL extensions so users shouldn't
be too confused without version information.

2933b7b4be Restructered docs, moving IIS 4 and newer to the top, and PWS to the bottom. 
One change: According to Microsoft (via a user comment) PWS 4 does not support ISAPI
so only CGI install docs remain for that.
Only the IIS 4 and newer docs will change in the future (by me)... so feel free to translate :)

2fd32205b8 Added the apache shared-object stuff. This definitly needs to be split into three sections. 1 for the stuff in common, 1 for the SO, 1 for the DSO. I'm not sure how to do this, comments welcome.

ad3f0a07de Added more info on where to look for ini stuff.Seems like I understand the search path. Implication: without PHPRC set, PHP 4 SAPI modules will not find the php.ini file if it is located in the PHP folder - this is why PHP 5 packages have all things in the root PHP folder. I'll update the docs later.

76956231ae started to revise the Windows manual installation instructions: 
- we also support Windows 2003
 - removed Windows 95 related note
   (since it is not supported anymore)
 - Put every part of an instruction to the
   itemizedlist
 - updated folder contents, filenames for PHP 4.3.7
 - added PHP 5 folder overview
 - mentioned the activescript dll
   TODO: add section on activescript usage
 - still need to review the last part of the file
   (there is now a warning mark in there)

I am still uncertain on what to suggest people who would like to set up PHP 4 and PHP 5 side by side. PHPRC will not work, since that sets a single folder.

cec4cf8783 Halleluja, this server had a long history, but it is still well alive, let's see: 
- Netscape Enterprise Server became iPlanet Server
 - iPlanet was integrated into Sun, and then rebraneded Sun ONE Web Server
 - finally Sun ONE Web Server was rebranded as Sun Java System Web Server
 - who knows what comes next?

Naming IDs after Sun, and listing the server names in historically descending order.
By the way it seems that those three sections I was talking about are quite
operating system independet, so it would be nice to come up with some good idea on
storing them at one place (we cannot make a snipet out of these three sections,
since we would need a valid root tag for that XML file, and there is no such
possibility here (except if we merge the three sections into one sect2 somehow).
Ideas are welcome.
